There’s more bad news for Australia’s Mortal Kombat fanbase, with the PSVita port of Mortal Kombat (2011) joining its console counterparts in being banned across the country.
Refused classification by the Classification Board of Australia due to the country’s lack of an adult rating for interactive entertainment, Australian fans will once again have to rely on importing a copy of the game to satisfy their hunger. Although illegal, Australian fans showed their resilience last year, with a mammoth import of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
The game’s original banning in 2011 sparked heated debates throughout parliament, with the decision once again giving rise to intense scrutiny from the public arena. As such, a resolution was devised, with an adult rating set for introduction sometime in 2013.

Of course.
But I've seen iOS aps with the same kinda violence, maybe worse. And the graphics arent much different.
They're doing this in cold blood now. It's not hard to tell. |

| Well I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think it's bullshit that they banned this version of it in Australia, damn this really sucks for our Aussie fans, and I agree it shouldn't be banned at all |

| I guess they are just going to ban every mortal kombat to follow, because I seriously doubt the blood/gore is going anywhere. If anything it's going to get more violent. That's a shame because it really is a great game! |

| this was sad! Here in Brazil some animes was repainted to cut of blood and others things that they think impropriated...One example is Naruto, here they cut the blood and the Asuma's cigartte... |

| Hopefully this game will be available to them in the future, even if it just got banned. Sorry to hear that it got banned in Australia. That is going to have to change I think. There are so many great games with violence in them, I would hate to see them banned in Australia as well. Perhaps one can send copies from America to Australia somehow, if one were to have friends there. Not sure how it would work out though. Best of luck having the game in your hands in the future. |
