After filing for bankruptcy, the now defunct Midway Games and its assets were ultimately purchased by Warner Bros. in 2009. Aiming to right the wrongs of the past, WB Games Chicago eventually became NetherRealm Studios. Their first title, Mortal Kombat (2011), quickly became one of the best selling Mortal Kombat titles of all time. Seeing the fruits of their labour, the studio began to branch out from their beloved franchise, launching Batman: Arkham City Lockdown for iOS soon after.
Today sees the official announcement of an entirely new franchise for NetherRealm Studios: one that focuses on DC Comics’ iconic heroes and villains. Debuting as a bold new fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U in 2013. |

Well this certainly is different. I honestly don't know what to make of this new discovery, but thanks for the postage.
My only concern is that since this is going to become a fighter (hopefully containing elements of free roaming similar to the Konquest freature seen an older Mortal Kombat titles) I pray that they use a similar engine to that of Mortal Kombat '11. It's the only successful fighting engine by far when it comes to NRS. |

This looks pretty cool tho, hope it plays a bit different, and has some new features. and isn't just MK9 with DC skin. |

Strange question... I know this is an MK fan site and all... but does anyone else feel as though Kami should continue coverage of this game? I mean... it Is NRS after all.
Also, Lobo and Swamp Thing. I said it before MK vs DC and I'm saying it now. I want them in. |

Since the guest characters become some kind of mandority for the games, I bet that in this fighting MK characters are going to be a guests =)
Awesome trailer and I'm really hyped for this game. There was no a decent fighting game with DC universe until MKvsDCU and now they are getting their own separate game! It's really cool. |

That looks outstanding! Dark, violent, and realistic. It looks very Nolan meets MK. After the success of a very dark MK and hopefully this game (assuming it turns out as good as it looks now); I think WB/DC/NRS are trying to really hype up MKvsDCU as a viable franchise after a good, but not spectacular first start. Injustice: GAU looks like it might be an MK fighter level.
I can't wait. |

To be honest I think covering the game would benefit the site. Mostly because news about a new game always keeps the forum active. This is a DC fighter yes but because its an NRS product it should have every right to have its own forum. It'll give members the chance to discuss something that isn't MK related in a main forum.
Lately the site has been rather low on activity due to the lack of news for MK related stuff. Since NRS just announced this that pretty much says their not focused on the MK brand right now and won't be for a while. |

Also did anyone notice what appeared to be Lex Luthor in the freeze frame shot being blasted by Superman? (At the 1:01 mark) Not that his inclusion is a surprise but he looked pretty cool. |
