Popular gaming site Gamespot recently had the opportunity to sit down with Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon and discuss the direction of the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Much to the relief of Mortal Kombat fans, Ed confirmed that the game will indeed include fatalities.
From the article:
GS: Have you made any more headway on the fatality versus finishing moves?
EB: Yes we have. All of the MK characters and all of the DC villains will have fatalities. The DC heroes who don't kill that often will have brutalities that will function just like fatalities but don't actually kill the opponent.
Along with this exciting tidbit comes the first batch of screenshots, showing off recently confirmed character The Flash doing battle with his new Mortal Kombat adversaries. Of particular note is the battle between Scorpion and Batman, in which evident costume damage can be seen.
Finally, Ed Boon and comic scribe Jimmy Palmiotti will be appearing at Comic-Con, the largest arts and comic book convention in the world. Appearing for one hour on July 25, they are set to reveal new characters from the game's roster, as well as hand out limited edition posters to all attendees.

I think this is awesome news. Hopefully now people won't oppose the game as much.
I just realised. That pic of Scorpion and the Flash is a non-blurred version of this pic that was on Noob.com shortly after the news of MK vs. DCU was released.

I have a question. Fatalities with a "T" rating? And none of those screenshots work for me.

Same here bro. But I saw them on another site, so I just read the descriptions.
Click here to see the thread where I posted the pics on another site.

Well the pics aren't loading for me right now, but I'm SO glad fatalities will be in the game. Perhaps this game might be good after all.

The screenshots above will link to our site's MK vs. DCU page which will have links to the big pics.

Okay, the link works. Well, The Flash has the running spin move which we already heard about, but after seeing the picture...I'm now pretty sure Kabal won't be in the game. It's pretty much the exact same move. I think the characters look really good though. Pictures generally don't do games justice, so I'm sure the final product is gonna look awesome.
My only problem is...we see moves like The Flash doing Kabal's spin, and Superman doing Kano's eye laster thing. That's been done before in MK. It's not so mucn that it bothers me personally, but I know that other people will complain if the specials aren't original. After hearing all the complaining about that being the problem with MKA...I don't want to have to hear it all over again.

Pics are ok. Fatalities are good. T rating is still bad. This update is cool

Everything like the screenshots looks cool. And it's great to hear that fatalities will actually be in the game.
Hopefully deathtraps will make it in the end. Both the Gotham City and Batcave arenas have the looks to have deathtraps. And like many MK fans, (Whether they're on this forum or not), I don't like the "T" rating.
I'd prefer the "M" rating so that it would feel like I'm playing an MK game. But we all know that's because DC Comics won't allow it and so that people under 18 can buy this.

Actually, people under 18 buy more M rated games. They shouldn't legally but GTA4 and many other M rated games are mostly popular among teen gamers.
Seriously, it's pretty easy for a 12 year old to play an 18+ game and M rated games sell ages better than T rated ones. Aside from casual games like Guitar Hero and Wii stuff, non of last year's best sellers was a T rated game. They were ALL M rated games. More than 60 percent of Halo 3 and GTA4 buyers were teenagers of 13 to 17. Seriously, M rating helps sales.
DC is just being stupid, disgusting and clueless... Same as Midway.

Well said. I agree. I was thinking the same thing. If you really want teenagers to be interested in a product you should make it MORE extreme (violence, sex, language) not LESS. Now is that legal/moral/ethical? I'll leave that to you, but it certainly is realistic.
Now onto the Fatalities part. This is great news!!! So we will get to see the MK characters and the DC villains KILL! I completely understand why they don't want Supes or Batsy killing, so Brutalities are the PERFECT compromise between the two. We get the satisfaction of kicking the holy hell out of our opponents after the fight, and the game stays true the characters and their (rather antiquated and often nonsensical) non-lethal force stance.
I wonder what Joker's fatality is going to be? It's got to be disturbing!
Of course this does beg the question, how much can they get away with under a "T" Rating? There will be blood, and there will be death, but how much will the two interact and not secure an "M" Rating?
My biggest fear is that Midway will create a killer game only to have it be rejected by the ERSB and then have to tone it down. That would suck hard, but if they continue to insist on a "T" Rating, it could very well be a reality.
