Yeah, Brock is back...I'm actually of "wait and see how this goes" mind, but the crowd reactions were cool. I hope he can still go...it wasn't his best F-5, but he has been gone a while.

Good on the Rock for thanking Cena too. That was much classier, and the Rock was more entertaining to me tonight than he had been all through the build to WM.

The crowd atmosphere was truly electrifying tonight. Something that I think was missing since I haven't been frequently watching wrestling. Maybe, just maybe things can go similar to how they were back in 2002. I can only dream.

'02 was a beautiful time in wrestling. The "fad" was ending, but you had guys like Edge, Eddie, Benoit, Jericho, Mysterio, Kurt Angle and others putting on just incredible matches. Cena was fresh, Orton was fresh...it was just all around a great time. I do miss that.

I felt like tonight's Raw was closer to "attitude" than we've seen in a while. Rock/Cena has been edgy, Jericho has been edgy...and pouring liquor all over Punk, then breaking a bottle on him? (It clearly broke before it hit him, but whatever) The crowd was into it....almost ENTIRELY pro-heel....which was very much an attitude trait.

I know its early still, and its probably just empty wishing...but the future does look kind of bright at the moment. Guess we wait and see!

Best episode of Raw I've seen in ages, I loved it. Only reason I watched it was to see if Brock would show up, and I;m glad I did.

Rocks promo was great I thought, he's still the man. His win over Cena makes sense if he's going after the WWE title. I hope he wins it for nostalgia reasons.

The triple threat match was alright quite predictable that Ziggler and Swagger would end up fighting amongst themselves, I really wish Swagger would go away, Ziggler is far better without him tagging along. I love Ziggler's selling, reminds me a little of Curt Henning.

The Funkasauras showing up to help Santino was good and hopefully Brodus can have a proper fued with one of them instead of endless squash matches. Zigger's selling of the headbutt was beautiful.

Loved Lord Tensai's debut, from the music to the Great Muta entrance mask. I like that on commentary Michael Cole said "he was a former WWE star that went to Japan" as to not insult our intelligence that is was clearly Albert. I like the idea of him just beating on guys til the ref stops it. The other thing I like about him is that for such a big monster he has the look of a hard bastard that could murder you, instead of the generic bodybuilder look.

Henry v Punk was also great imo, kept Henry strong and looking like a beast.

Hated everything to do with Jericho when he showed up, although this bit wasn't his fault but I cringed when he said he liked to drink but "never excess drinking and I never drink and drive." I understand why they got him to say it to send a good message, but it was just stupid and out of context, surely "I like to have a little drink." would've sufficed. The second Jack Daniels bottle exploded before it hit punk by quite a bit.

Liked Bryan's look of "if you don't get away from me right now I'm going to rip your head off" look, I wish he was on Raw more last night, as that means more AJ, she's too damn adorable.

Was surprised by how loud and audible the boo's for Sheamus were and there was loud Daniel Bryan chants, Del Rio coming back is good with me as well.

Skipped Rhodes v Kofi, no interest at all.

Eve can manipulate me anytime. Yummy.

Cena's promo was boring as hell then BROCK! Kitana (Dance) even though I sort of expected it I got pretty damn excited when his music hit and what a pop, amazing. Seeing the F5 on John boy was beautiful. Looked a bit half assed with the cheap looking tracksuit bottoms, but that's just nit picking, the point is BROCK! Kitana (Dance)

Usually after mania there is a few "best of luck in your future endeavors" who do we all think/hope will get the boot? I'd be amazed if Ted DiBiase stays employed, he just looks so damn boring.

I skipped this week's raw, but from the lack of a Diva match, I'm glad I did.
Sorta hoping that since Brock is back, that Sable will return as his valet of some sort. Sure, we all know she's a stuck-up bitch, but she can definitely control a crowd and generate some serious heat, which is something the Diva's division is lacking as of late.

I don't think 90 year old Sable is going to save the Divas Division Bitch.

I stop paying attention to wrestling for a few weeks and Brock Lesnar returns? AND A-TRAIN? Damn. I always miss the interesting stuff. Except D-Bryan losing in 18 seconds at Wrestlemania. Seriously WWE?

Apparently he's contracted for 2 appearances every month. He always hated the wrestling life on the road and certainly didn't have to go back, must be getting an absolute shitload of money.

Ho-ly shit.

What an epic Raw. The crowd was absolutely ballistic. There's no way in hell Vince can ignore D-Bry now.

The Rock gave possibly his best promo since returning. He kept the (most) of the jokes away and sounded genuinely grateful.

As soon as I heard that familiar guitar rift, I marked out like a 14 year old. WWE may finally be watchable again.

As a long time Albert/A-Train/Giant Bernard fan, It's so fucking awesome to see Matt (Tensai) back in action in WWE. As a child, I waited and waited for his push. Now it looks like it'll finally happen. But I HATED the fact Cole and Lawler never knew who he was. I know it's for newer viewers, but it's friggin moronic considering his previous lengthy tenure.

Wow. For the first time, I felt this was truly a new beginning.

Quote:
Brock Lesnar has signed a 1 year contract with WWE according to PWInsider.com.

Lesnar is signed to make a minimum of two appearances per month over the next year according to reports. It is expected by WWE that Lesnar will make 30-35 appearances over the next year with an increase of seeing Lesnar when WrestleMania gets closer.

There is room in this new contract for negotiation to add more dates and the proper compensation to Lesnar's schedule.

This is how I felt exactly. Raw did wonders making up for the sour taste Mania gave me. Enjoyed it a ton.

2012 may be the year of big returns, within 3 months and a bit we've already had Kane return back to actually wrestling, Undertaker (although that happens every year), Brock, A-Train/Tensai and The Rock actually looks like he might stay a while longer.

Perhaps this is a new era for WWE, or they are trying to get some of the older fans interested again. Safe to say, I'm excited to see what they're gonna do, and hopefully not give a world champion a 18 second title match after typing this.

Doesn't Triple H have alot of power these days? alot more than before. Wonder if these changes and returns are his doing? He strikes me as more a traditional wrestling fan than wanting diva searches and stuff like that.

Well no, but it'd be a start. She could teach some of the girls how to actually get over with the crowd, since the only one that can is Eve, and that's only because she screwed with 2 of the most popular faces.

The only real way to save the Diva's division would be to bring Kharma & Layla back, and perhaps contract Lita and/or Trish to have a few matches here and there or a brief title fued. Natalya has became a joke, as has Beth Phoenix, and they're the two most capable in-ring talents.

A feasible womens division would need feasible womens wrestlers which means actually hiring people like Sara Del Rey, Mercedes Martinez, Sarah Stock (Sarita in TNA) and so on.

WWE just aren't interested, and make people not interested, making it a catch 22.

Del Rey I agree with for certain. Women's wrestling is good...if you watch good women's wrestling. What WWE has provided...even with actual talents like Nattie...is a fucking joke. I can't believe these women put up with it, to be frank. A woman like Kelley Kelley could certainly get a gig as a model or something, make plenty of cash, and NOT sacrifice her physical well being. Women like Natalya and Beth should get some of that John Cena action, and have him promote them on the side (much as he did with Ryder). Somehow, women's wrestling needs real and quality exposure. I just don't see that happening.

Edit...read this column, it sums up pretty well how I feel about the whole Rock/Cena/Lesnar thing. I'm willing to give it a chance, of course, but yeah...

Quote:
I respect Cena, I've made no bones about that. The man gives his all every week, he does his best to carry the company, be its public face and doesn't get anywhere near the props from fans for it. People keep saying he's so hated, turn him heel but WWE has resisted, partly because he moves merchandise and is a major worker for the Make-A-Wish Foundation but also because they recognize Cena is better as a face. It amazes me that people have ignored the point he makes in his promos, he's been busting himself as a star for seven years while Rock keeps claiming "WWE is home" and then leaves to make movies. This really looked like a way for Cena to get a rub of respect from the Rock but instead, they let Rock go over. It's almost the opposite of the Rock/Hogan match a decade ago although the dynamic is the same that Rock seems to be sticking around longer than expected. But that just makes it a bit more annoying, that WWE seems to plan to push him for the title after so long away. They did the same thing with Hogan in '02 and the ultimate reaction wasn't exactly gangbusters for WWE. Yes, a Punk/Rock showdown would be good and play off their supposed real-life heat but I find it just a tad hypocritical of fans to rail on "same old" with Cena and yet go crazy for Rock basically repeating the same lines and moves from over a decade ago. Of course, it's not just Rock anymore.

So after months of speculation, Brock Lesner has returned to WWE. And the same fans who literally booed him out of the company eight years ago are now going wild for his return and attacking Cena. Now, getting Brock is a smart move business-wise. His fame level is much higher now thanks to his UFC run and he seems to be already in good shape, pulling off a perfect F5 after so long away. It's up in the air how he's going to be booked, whether face or heel and how many appearances but he does have a lot of fan heat on his side. Once again, however, it's a case of WWE bringing back a guy after so long for a monster push with his first appearance laying out the company's biggest current name. Let's not forget, Brock is already made in the eyes of fans, a further push isn't really needed. A match between him and Cena wouldn't have the same impact as Cena/Rock as the two feuded back in '03. True, Cena is a much bigger star and better worker now but it's still not the same monster dream match.

I wrote a few weeks back on how Lesner won't have the same factor he did in his first run: Hunger. In 2002, Lesner was out to prove himself big time as a real star and justify his push, leading to his great ring work. Now, as an established star, it won't be quite the same. I don't see him phoning it in and in fact, he may be pushed to earn back fans' respect after his infamous walkout. But those UFC years took their toll on him physically and mentally so I don't expect him to be quite the same in the ring (not including eight years away from wrestling). Plus, like it or not, Lesner will be facing the easy route of just cashing a check for brief appearances instead of really giving his all. I hope it doesn't work out that way as the man is a major talent but it is possible which makes laying out Cena a bit harsher.

Some will accuse me of being way too defensive of Cena and that Rock and Lesner should be going over given their star power. There's merit to that as both guys are huge deals and with Rock's mainstream presence, a Mania win was seen as a good thing. But Cena is well known too and more importantly, he is a guy who's proven he's willing to stay. Rock talks big about going for the title but most of us know he'll be taking a long "absence" for a big movie if it comes along. Lesner has only a 1-year deal and clearly trying to cash in while he's still hot from his UFC absence and still up in the air how he'll actually be in the ring. Yet somehow, these two guys who both walked out on the company (in Rock's case, a couple of times) are getting monster props from fans while the guy who's proven himself capable of the massive pressure of being the face of WWE keeps getting trashed by the smarks. I like Rock and I like Lesner, I am happy to see them back. But to give them far more adulation after so long away over a guy who's carried the company all this time is more than just a tad annoying to me.

^ which is why I've usually been a fan of Cena. Sure his antics and what not might get annoying every now and then to the point that we're on the whole "oh my lord where the f*ck is a new guy we can push?", but he deals with so much crud from the audience that you gotta respect him for that. It's almost like the Rick Rude effect with the superstar not even trying to be heel. I can say that I'm a bigger fan of Rock and Lesnar but I do realize how these guys "abandoned" the company before. Meh let's just see how it carries on from here.

Anyone seen this? A guy from FCW "confronting" Mick Foley at a hotel during Mania, admittedly I've never heard of Dean Ambrose but I was curious so I looked him on youtube and his promo's and character is amazing, I assume if he's doing stuff like that with Foley (it's obviously a work) then he'll be on the main roster soon. Really hope so as he appears to be something different from the cookie cutter guys that normally get called up.

To back up that column, Austin; Brock Lesnar is reportedly already gaining massive heat backstage. Reports say that not only does he clearly not want to be there, he showed up Literally 30 seconds to the arena before he came out, which is why Cena was stalling on his promo.

The same report said that he is not getting along with anyone backstage, and everyone else does not like him either.

Daaaaamn lol. Rock had some heat, but got along with everyone by all accounts. I've heard of some heat between Punk and Rock, but I've also heard that shot down. I hope Brock gets a good attitude and quick, so this leads to fond memories rather than ugly ones.
