Secrets
Fight Smoke
This works in both 1 and 2 Player modes. During a match on The Portal stage, if you get the 'Toasty!' guy to appear, quickly press Down + Start. If done correctly, you will be transported to Goro's Lair to fight Smoke.
Fight Jade
This only works in 1 Player mode. During the fight that is right under the '?' box, defeat your opponent by only using Low Kick. After the fight, you will be transported to Goro's Lair to fight Jade.
Fight Noob Saibot
This only works in 2 Player mode. To fight this elusive kombatant, win 50 matches in a row. After your 50th win you will be transported to Goro's Lair to fight Noob Saibot.
Note: On Genesis and SNES you only have to win 25 matches in a row.
Random Select
On the Character Select Screen, press and hold Up + Start from your cursor's starting position (Liu Kang for Player 1, Reptile for Player 2).
Disable Throws
This only works in 2 Player mode. After selecting your characters, both players must hold Down + High Punch until the match starts.
Slippery Spikes
This works in both 1 and 2 Player modes. When fighting in the Kombat Tomb stage, finish your opponent by impaling them on the spikes. As soon as you do that, quickly press and hold Down on both joysticks. The body will slip off of the spikes and onto the floor.
Play Pong
This only works in 2 Player mode. To play this classic game, win 250 matches in a row.
Test Mode (Genesis only)
In the Options Menu, highlight 'Done' and press Left, Down, Left, Right, Down, Right, Left, Left, Right, Right.
Fight Shao Kahn Instantly (Genesis only)
In the Options Menu, press A, B, C, C, C, B, B, A, A, A, A and then quickly press B when Shao Kahn appears.
Fergality (Genesis only)
In the Test Mode, turn Oooh Nasty! on. Select Raiden. When you reach The Armory stage and it's time to input your Fatality press Back, Back, Back, Block.
Fight Smoke Instantly (SNES only)
On the Character Select Screen, press Up, Left, Up, Up, Right + Select. You will be taken to Goro's Lair to fight Smoke.
Fight Jade Instantly (SNES only)
On the Character Select Screen, press Up, Down, Down, Left, Right + Select. You will be taken to Goro's Lair to fight Jade.
Fight Noob Saibot Instantly (SNES only)
On the Character Select Screen, press Left, Up, Down, Down, Right + Select. You will be taken to Goro's Lair to fight Noob Saibot.
Fight Kintaro Instantly (SNES only)
On the Character Select Screen, press Up, Down, Down, Right, Right + Select. You will be taken to Kahn's Arena to fight Kintaro.
Fight Shao Kahn Instantly (SNES only)
On the Character Select Screen, press Right, Up, Up, Right, Left + Select. You will be taken to Kahn's Arena to fight Shao Kahn.
Super Damage (SNES only)
On the Character Select Screen, press Down, Up, Right, Up, Left + Select. This works against the CPU only. Your hits will do 4 times their normal damage while the CPU's hits do ¼ of their damage.
30 Kredits (SNES only)
On the Character Select Screen, press Left, Up, Right, Down, Left + Select.
Extra Fatality Time (SNES only)
On the Character Select Screen, press Up, Up, Left, Up, Down + Select. You will be given 15 seconds to perform a Fatality.
Team Battle (SNES only)
On the Main Title Screen, hold L + R and press Select.
Alternative Intro (SNES only)
When turning the SNES on, hold L + R until the screen turns red. |
