Hello Kamidogu! My name is Dustin, and I am the new kid on the block here. So, I thought I would drop in and introduce myself and some of my experience with this franchise we all know and love.
At nearly 40 years old I have the distinct pleasure of having been around since the beginning. I have many fond memories of pumping quarters into EVERY MK1 machine I could find and losing myself to the one true tournament of champions. Since then I have been hooked. From arcade cabinets to home consoles I have devoured every iteration of this game, from mythology to fatalities, I couldn’t get enough.
As the internet became more and more a part of everything, it was instrumental in konnecting the kommunity across the globe. Websites, not unlike this one, started to pop up. There was a brief moment where I was in talks to join the writing staff of one of the early sites to do something similar to what Chris has asked me to help out with here. Things fell through there, and now that site is basically a glorified message board.
I hope our work here furthers the relevancy of this kommunity as a whole. With the ground work already in place and the help of other key players (I’m looking at you Tabmok!) I believe that is an attainable goal!
So thank you to this kommunity, and to everyone involved with this and other sites like it. For being a great place, and a welcoming fandom.
