In a recent interview with IGN regarding his portrayal of Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Kiefer Sutherland let slip his possible involvement with a yet unannounced Mortal Kombat project.
He later added that his contribution to the title wrapped up quickly, indicating that his role (whatever it may be) will be fairly minor.
I did Mortal Kombat, and that’s such a huge game, but it’s so not like [MGS5].

UPDATE: In a live broadcast with Giant Bomb following the events of E3 2014, Ed Boon confirmed around the 9-minute mark that Kiefer Sutherland did NOT work on Mortal Kombat X.
