Having trained under the guidance of Japanese masters since the age of 4, he holds a 9th Dan in Jūjutsu, 8th Dan in Karate and 3rd Dan in Judo. As part of his impressive résumé François is a trained doctor, and served as a member of a special Black Ops extraction team in the early seventies.

His journey through life would eventually lead him to Midway Games, where he donned a traditional Chinese cap to portray Shang Tsung in the highly acclaimed 1993 title Mortal Kombat II.
