Social media was once again set ablaze today, with all invitations for the Mortal Kombat 1 online stress test distributed and ready to redeem.
The Mortal Kombat 1 online stress test is a 3 day event running from June 23 to June 26 in which the team at NetherRealm Studios will aim to deliberately place their systems under strain. PlayStation 5 and Xbox X|S owners who play during the event (beginning at 8am PT) will help the studio identify potential issues ahead of its September 19 launch. Unfortunately the test is not available for Switch nor PC; players outside of North America, Latin America, Brazil and Europe will also miss out.
At one point Mortal Kombat 1 and the term “Stress Test” were both trending on Twitter as fans conveyed everything from their extreme excitement to their dismay. Some overzealous players even fell victim to scams, with multiple users on eBay and other platforms selling dud codes as emotions ran high.
