Recently, never before seen footage of an early version of Mortal Kombat II has been released on YouTube and it is fascinating. It is Version 0.1, which was never released to the public or playable for its release. Credit to theonblastshow2012 for unearthing the footage and YouTube Channel YourMKArcadeSource for releasing it. Keep in mind, it is old footage and it is clearly VHS quality. But when you watch this footage, the gameplay, sound, music, and presentation is completely different from the Mortal Kombat II arcade version we are all used to. Some stand out notes: Johnny Cage’s sprite has…

Jeremy Slater (best known for his work on The Exorcist TV series and Disney+ miniseries Moon Knight) joins as a writer. Jeremy Slater is the new screenwriter for the second movie in the reboot movie series. That name might sound familiar as he also worked on the Disney+ Marvel series Moon Knight. In a recent interview with Discussing Film he acknowledged that the studio is aware of the issues the fans had with the first film, as well as the things we loved, and steering to correct and improve on the next film. Will they be able to make us forget about Cole Young? Probably not. BUT that is not to say we can’t forgive. So long as we actually get…
Andrew Bowen, aka the voice of Johnny Cage, recently tweeted and then quickly deleted a video that could potentially mean Mortal Kombat 12 is coming next from NetherRealm Studios. The video reportedly showed Bowen arriving at WB Studios in California, presumably to do some vocal work for the company. During the course of the video, some music from Mortal Kombat II could be heard faintly in the background, again leading those who saw the video to think that he was indeed visiting WB Studios to work on Mortal Kombat 12. There is no confirmation as to what work Andrew Bowen…
