After amassing more than $125 million at the worldwide box office, Mortal Kombat II is all set to arrive on digital and in physical form over the coming weeks. Unlike the first film which suffered at the hands of the pandemic, Mortal Kombat II enjoyed a successful international theatrical release in early May. The film, regarded by as a huge step up from the original, arrives on all popular digital streaming services on June 9. TOASTY! The man behind Mortal Kombat’s most iconic music tracks has announced his retirement from the team after more than three decades. Dan Forden served as one of the original four team members who created the original Mortal Kombat in 1992 alongside Ed Boon, John Tobias and John Vogel. As largely expected, Digital Eclipse and Atari have used Evo 2025 to jointly announce the inclusion of Mortal Kombat Trilogy in Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. Released in 1996, Mortal Kombat Trilogy quickly became a fan favourite, bringing together an enormous roster of kombatants and arenas. Although it was also released for Nintendo 64, it was the PlayStation and PC ports that really resonated with fans as they contained crisper graphics and additional characters. In fact, series veteran John Vogel has been a part of the team since the very beginning, working on the very first Mortal Kombat alongside Ed Boon, John Tobias and Dan Forden. A hugely talented writer and artist, John spent most of high school and art school applying for positions both within the video game industry and at a local newspaper. Through his valiant effort, he joined Midway in the late 80s; more than 25 years later he continues his work on various projects at NetherRealm Studios.…

Originally slated for a mid-2015 release, the High Voltage developed last generation ports of Mortal Kombat X have officially been cancelled. The not-so-shock announcement was made earlier today by admin Yorick on the official Mortal Kombat X forums: After months of development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has come to the regrettable conclusion that we cannot release Mortal Kombat X for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
