DC Comics have released chapter eleven of the hugely popular Mortal Kombat X comic series. The second part of Issue #4 focuses on the partnership between Scorpion and Raiden as they battle to save Takeda from the Netherrealm’s grip. Shortly after the reveal of Jason Voorhees and apparent reveal of Shinnok, NetherRealm Studios have hosted their fifth Kombat Kast today and more juicy details have been spilled regarding Mortal Kombat X’s Story Mode. The Kombat Kast proceeded to show off a few minutes of Story Mode gameplay from Chapter 1. The introduction of Cassie Cage early in the promotional cycle raised many eyebrows. Many saw her inclusion as the next-generation replacement for her parents, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, however the release of today’s “Meet the Cage Family” trailer seems to derail that theory. Online retail giant Amazon have updated their Mortal Kombat X product listings to include ten previously unseen biographies from Mortal Kombat X. Included are biographies for Kotal Kahn, Scorpion, Johnny Cage, Kano, Sub-Zero, D’Vorah, Ferra/Torr, Raiden, Cassie Cage and Mileena. Kotal Kahn was a young boy in the warrior realm of Osh-Tekk when it was merged with Outworld by Shao Kahn. He grew up admiring the Outworld emperor. Judging by a recent post on their Twitter profile, topics of discussion may include further detail on Mortal Kombat X’s highly-anticipated Story Mode. Subtitled “A Story 25-Years in the Making,” the live stream is set to kick off on March 13 at 3:00 pm CST (which translates to March 13 at 9:00 pm UTC for those residing in Europe and March 14 at 8:00 am AEDT for Australia).

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s announcement that Mortal Kombat X will be receiving a mobile companion app, IGN have posted a screenshot showcasing the blind swordsman Kenshi in action. The image depicts Kenshi and his team comprising of Scorpion and Kitana finishing off Kotal Kahn’s squad to take out the round.
