    Brutalities + Story Trailer Reveals New Characters

    Big news day! Last night, NetherRealm Studios held their fourth Twitch stream showcasing Mortal Kombat X. After a display of Cassie Cage’s various moveset, the developers revealed that Brutalities will be returning by performing one with Cassie Cage. They then presented a featurette highlighting how Brutalities will work.  Once finished, they continued to show off a few Brutalities, noting how they differ somewhat from the Brutalities of the past. Brutalities are now performed using regular attacks, however, they will likely require “prerequisites,” much like Mortal Kombat (2011)’s Babalities carried the “no blocking in the last round” prerequisite.     With only a couple months left before Mortal Kombat X’s release, NetherRealm Studios has announced their lineup of special editions for the game, as well as a video featurette, detailing the Kollector’s Edition by Coarse. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today revealed details of the premium product lineup for Mortal Kombat X, which includes Mortal Kombat X Kollector’s Edition by Coarse, Kollector’s Edition, Premium Edition and Limited Edition.     NetherRealm Studios have released a new trailer for Mortal Kombat X, simply titled “Next,” which details many of the upcoming features in the game. The video details the return of Story Mode, as well as popular online modes such as King of the Hill.     Kombat Kast #2: Ermac Returns

    Soul-comprised warrior Ermac has been unveiled as the next kombatant to join Mortal Kombat X, his inclusion announced during NetherRealm Studios’ second Kombat Kast. Hosted by Tyler Lansdown, Derek Kirtzic and Paulo Garcia, the trio showcased a short trailer before delving into some hardcore gameplay. Spectral, his first variation, gives him the ability to fly for a short duration and unleash unique attacks from the air. His Mystic variation gains him the ability to use his Tele-Lift and Tele-Push telekinetic abilities.     Even more information uncovered this week with IGN unveiling a new trailer for our number one Saurian, Reptile! Sorry Khameleon, you came in second. In the trailer, we get to see even more tasty Mortal Kombat X gameplay as the Shaolin Monk, Kung Lao, seems to have developed a quarrel with Reptile’s desire to tear his flesh.     Darren Shahlavi Passes Away

    It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Darren Shahlavi, well known by the community for his role as Kano in Mortal Kombat: Legacy, has passed away. News of the actor’s death has been scarce. No details have surfaced other than his passing this morning, and that his death was unexpected. This marks the second time that an actor who had played Kano has died long before his time, the former example being the death of Trevor Goddard in 2003.
