The second trailer for 2026’s Mortal Kombat II movie has dropped, and is sure to whet more than a few appetites. Once again, protagonist Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) is front and centre, seemingly thrust into a world he doesn’t quite understand. While numerous fan theories currently exist, many believe the film’s first half will focus on the film star while the latter half will focus more on the rise of Kitana and Earthrealm’s warriors against the evil emperor Shao Kahn. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. What do you think of this latest trailer? Be sure to keep an…
TOASTY! The man behind Mortal Kombat’s most iconic music tracks has announced his retirement from the team after more than three decades. Dan Forden served as one of the original four team members who created the original Mortal Kombat in 1992 alongside Ed Boon, John Tobias and John Vogel. Its unique digitised graphics and gruesome finishing moves aside, a huge part of Mortal Kombat’s appeal came from its catchy soundtrack and crispy sound effects. Game after game he continued to perfect his craft, and although others eventually joined the sound development team his influence remained front and centre. Wednesday was…

As largely expected, Digital Eclipse and Atari have used Evo 2025 to jointly announce the inclusion of Mortal Kombat Trilogy in Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. Released in 1996, Mortal Kombat Trilogy quickly became a fan favourite, bringing together an enormous roster of kombatants and arenas. Although it was also released for Nintendo 64, it was the PlayStation and PC ports that really resonated with fans as they contained crisper graphics and additional characters. In fact, it is the PlayStation port specifically that will be included with this kollection. While the digital version of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is expected in…

Following the recent confirmation that Arnold Schwarzenegger will not be voicing his likeness as the Terminator in Mortal Kombat 11, fans started numerous petitions to ensure the authenticity of a second DLC character was not lost. Putting fans at ease, esteemed voiceover actor Keith David took to his Twitter account today to make the announcement that he will be reprising his role of Spawn. David voiced Spawn in the HBO series Todd McFarlane’s Spawn, which saw eighteen episodes released over three seasons from 1997 to 1999. Despite the Austrian Oak’s likeness as the Terminator confirmed in the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack roster reveal trailer, sources indicate that his unique voice is not part of the deal. Instead the highly anticipated T-800 will be voiced by an actor who sounds similar to Schwarzenegger, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter and apparently confirmed by sources at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. A tweet by series co-creator Ed Boon following the Kombat Pack trailer’s release indicated to many that the studio had “gotten” Arnold, but to what degree remains to be seen. After months of pokes, prods, teases and trolls, the full roster for what we expect will be the first of two Kombat Packs has been revealed. Following an earlier leak, NetherRealm Studios posted the trailer fans had been waiting for, albeit short of many surprises. While many had assumed that protagonist Ash Williams from The Evil Dead was all but confirmed, it seems that his position may have possibly been taken by DC Comics’ The Joker, an inclusion that has proven to be controversial if early reactions are anything to go by. From the official press release: The Terminator T-800 from “Terminator: Dark…
The Terminator (T-800) is now playable for those who purchased Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pack. To celebrate the milestone, NetherRealm Studios have released a render and artwork via the game’s official Twitter page. Although Arnold Schwarzenegger is not voicing the character, we strongly believe that the studio could not have done a better job in their depiction of the Governator. General availability will begin next week for those who do not own the Kombat Pack. Included as part of the update are a number of skins for Johnny Cage, Sonya and Kano, as well as a “Cassie Quinn” skin to…
