TOASTY! The man behind Mortal Kombat’s most iconic music tracks has announced his retirement from the team after more than three decades. Dan Forden served as one of the original four team members who created the original Mortal Kombat in 1992 alongside Ed Boon, John Tobias and John Vogel. Its unique digitised graphics and gruesome finishing moves aside, a huge part of Mortal Kombat’s appeal came from its catchy soundtrack and crispy sound effects. Game after game he continued to perfect his craft, and although others eventually joined the sound development team his influence remained front and centre. Wednesday was…

Although it was also released for Nintendo 64, it was the PlayStation and PC ports that really resonated with fans as they contained crisper graphics and additional characters. In fact, it is the PlayStation port specifically that will be included with this kollection. While the digital version of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is expected in…

The moment you have all been waiting for has arrived: Mortal Kombat II’s official red-band trailer is here. Proving that there is plenty of steam left in the 33-year-old franchise, Mortal Kombat returns to the silver screen this October with its second film following 2021’s reboot. The trailer has garnered so much attention that it has officially become the most viewed red-band trailer of all time, hitting 106.8 million views in only 24 hours. Seemingly centred around Johnny Cage, the trailer sees the failed action star thrust into a violent world he doesn’t fully understand. While the film shares some…

News broke earlier today that a live YouTube event would be held tomorrow beginning 8:05am PT following a number of cryptic tweets by series co-creator Ed Boon and producer Todd Garner. Early reports suggest that the trailer itself will debut at 9am PT. To help build hype for the main trailer, a teaser titled “Uncaged Fury” gives fans their first glimpse of Johnny Cage, who is portrayed by Karl Urban. Sporting attire similar to his appearance in Mortal Kombat 11,…

Fox has said that they will be returning to MK11 at this year’s EVO tournament (on their Twitter). For Combo Breaker however they were focusing on Skull Girls, for which they took SECOND overall…

Hello Kamidogu! My name is Dustin, and I am the new kid on the block here. So, I thought I would drop in and introduce myself and some of my experience with this franchise we all know and love. At nearly 40 years old I have the distinct pleasure of having been around since the beginning. I have many fond memories of pumping quarters into EVERY MK1 machine I could find and losing myself to the one true tournament of champions. Since then I have been hooked. From arcade cabinets to home consoles I have devoured every iteration of this…
The final curtain has fallen as NetherRealm Studios announce that they are moving on from Mortal Kombat 11 after supporting the title for more than two years. First announced in 2018 at The Game Awards by series co-creator Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat 11 was released in 2019 and has proven to be one of the studio’s most refined and supported titles. Shipping with a base roster of 25 kombatants, a further 12 were later added across a number of releases (Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Sindel, The Joker, Spawn, The Terminator, Fujin, RoboCop, Sheeva, Rambo, Rain and Mileena). Despite the challenges imposed…
