The second trailer for 2026’s Mortal Kombat II movie has dropped, and is sure to whet more than a few appetites. Once again, protagonist Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) is front and centre, seemingly thrust into a world he doesn’t quite understand. While numerous fan theories currently exist, many believe the film’s first half will focus on the film star while the latter half will focus more on the rise of Kitana and Earthrealm’s warriors against the evil emperor Shao Kahn. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. What do you think of this latest trailer? Be sure to keep an…
TOASTY! The man behind Mortal Kombat’s most iconic music tracks has announced his retirement from the team after more than three decades. Dan Forden served as one of the original four team members who created the original Mortal Kombat in 1992 alongside Ed Boon, John Tobias and John Vogel. Its unique digitised graphics and gruesome finishing moves aside, a huge part of Mortal Kombat’s appeal came from its catchy soundtrack and crispy sound effects. Game after game he continued to perfect his craft, and although others eventually joined the sound development team his influence remained front and centre. Wednesday was…

As largely expected, Digital Eclipse and Atari have used Evo 2025 to jointly announce the inclusion of Mortal Kombat Trilogy in Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. Released in 1996, Mortal Kombat Trilogy quickly became a fan favourite, bringing together an enormous roster of kombatants and arenas. Although it was also released for Nintendo 64, it was the PlayStation and PC ports that really resonated with fans as they contained crisper graphics and additional characters. In fact, it is the PlayStation port specifically that will be included with this kollection. While the digital version of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is expected in…

Finnish gaming magazine Pelaaja have published an article revealing that fan favourite Kung Lao is set to join the Mortal Kombat X roster. Perishing at the hands of Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn during the events of Mortal Kombat (2011), a visibly older Kung Lao rises from death to once again vanquish evil. According to the article his three variations include Tempest (which utilises spinning attacks and allows him to use his hat as a revolving shield), Buzz Saw (which sharpens the razored rim of his hat and allows for more hat control) and Hat Trick (which allows him to cast his hat to-and-fro to extend…

Today sees the grand opening of Kamidogu — a Mortal Kombat fan site that will hopefully become your ultimate source for all things Mortal Kombat. Let me start by welcoming you all. Fans are what make a site great, and without them a site is only ever half complete. I would especially like to thank all those who joined Kamidogu Forums before the site launched. Your enthusiasm and energy has been large factor in my motivation to continue. I have been a long time fan of the Mortal Kombat series, growing up with the franchise. Starting at a young age with the…
NetherRealm Studios have just released a new gameplay trailer for Mortal Kombat X, showcasing the still expanding roster and announcing the return of Princess Kitana. This isn’t the first time a character that was killed off in Mortal Kombat (2011) has returned from the dead. A mere two weeks ago, Kung Lao was revealed to have been resurrected to return in Mortal Kombat X. The above trailer also marks our first glimpse at Kung Lao in action, utilizing his signature hat in more unique ways than ever, and unloading a fury of rapid punches into his opponent. In addition, we also get what appears to be a…
